Dream House: Fireplaces
Last year I started posting collections of inspiration pictures for the house of my dreams, room by room. Now I'm focusing on more of the details of the house whether they be architectural details, accessories, or color schemes. This month I'm starting on one of my favorite architectural details: fireplaces. There's just something about having a fireplace in your home or apartment that makes the place feel more like home. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that I grew up on the beach in consistently cooler weather, but I find them comforting, and it is fascinating how a well proportioned and decorated fireplace mantel can pull a whole room together.

Those are gorgeous! I especially love the white fireplace with the blue arc inlaid around it. Wow. If I ever have enough money for a decorator I'll call you! LOL

What elegant fireplaces! I would love to see you assemble these in a house. It would be interesting to see what you can make of pegs like these: how you can mix and match them to arrive at something that has your mark and is very great at the same time.
